Money Talks
That job I blabbed on and on about, subjecting you to my angst? I ended up turning it down due to finances.
That first week after saying no was a lot harder than I expected as I faced staying at my current job for the unforeseeable future, all because of money; money, that necessary evil.
My job isn't terrible but I don't really have anywhere to go with it. I don't toe the line enough and, as such, have found promotions thwarted.
I get my bills paid, decent benefits and semi flexible hours but the job is taking its toll. My understanding is that people typically burn out in 5-7 years and I am well past that time frame.
And I wonder why I am tired? Really?
I spent a lot of time sighing and wondering if there wasn't a way to make the lesser pay work out. There really wasn't and knowing this helped me, mostly, feel alright about my decision but it sure didn't stop me from whining.
And so onwards.....
Two weeks ago I got a call from the above job. They'd revamped the position, found some more money and were wondering if it held any interest to me as they couldn't stop thinking about what a good addition I'd be to their working team.
Cue silence. And then more angst. And lots of conversations and what if-ing and maybe even a few frustrated tears (ps. thanks you). People made a lot of good points in regards to yay-ing or nay-ing the job but one friend really helped me get out of my head and evaluate what I wanted; she pretty much voodooed me.
I accepted the offer and begin a new working life in the morning.
I'm freaking out but at least I don't have that daily dread. I know I am going to be overwhelmed and exhausted with all the learning, especially for the first few weeks, but I am hoping for more job satisfaction, and overall life satisfaction, since so much of my time is spent at work.
So many changes this year...

Semi Netless Again...
So after coming back home and finally having the net again the lappie decided to really start pitching fits. It's had a few issues over the past 3-4 months and has taken to crashing over the last month. Now it is crashing multiple times per day while grinding and groaning and generally sounding like it might just blow up.
Joy.
If it was just the hard drive that was the problem I'm told this can be replaced. The bigger issue is the pin in the computer where the adapter cord attaches. I thought at first that the cord was done in and so replaced it but it's the pin at issue. That combined with the HD means I need to be getting a replacement.
Bum.
So out comes the credit card and file saving fun.
And Vista.
(If the geek lived closer I'd so be using him for his big brain...)

I want to cheat.
On my stylist that is.
She had one of the other women wash my hair and she did this neck rub thing that was out of this world. I was a puddle in the chair.
If my stylist could learn that to go along with her most amazing head massages? I'd give her free rein on my hair and with my bank card.

Success!
The boy is dressed and looking spiffy in his new suit.
And shoes of course...
We had lunch, went to four different suit shops, the shoe shop, one other shop for me and were done in less than 2 and a half hours.
Oh I am good.
